Fit Tip – how to work out which size and how many pairsThe measurement above is the length of the rack itself, not the width of the shoes it will hold. To work out how many pairs fit, stand one of your shoes on the floor and measure across it at its widest point – usually 8–11 cm (3–4.5 in) for adult shoes, less for slippers and children's sizes. Divide the rack length by that number: a 30 cm rack takes roughly 2–3 shoes side by side, a 50 cm rack roughly 4–5. Then measure your wall: the clear run of wall you have available, and the drop below the mounting point, so the shoes aren't resting on a skirting board or a radiator.
